Team Returns From Thailand/Cambodia

A team of 5 people from Center of Hope International church joined with 25 amazing students and faculty of VBCI Thailand and did a 2 week mission trip to Northern Thailand.  We flew 22 hours to Bangkok, took a 19 hour train trip to Chaing Mai, we then took a Sun Tao 4 hours north into the Jungles of Thailand. Pastor Deon was teaching a course on Faith for 3 hours each morning no matter where we were, on the train, near a waterfalls, or even in the middle of the jungle. The point was to learn about Faith and then practically walk it out.  We saw many people in the villages touched with the love of God, saved and healed. At one point, one of the village pastors took some our team door to door (late at night) to pray for people who were sick. He was so excited at the miracles.

We served 4 village communities with the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of which, we walked more than 20k over mountains with back packs to get to. Some communities only had a few believers in them.  We held services in the villages, played games with the kids and taught them in thier native dialect. After leaving the mountains we headed back to Chaing Mai and Pastor Deon was asked to teach at another Bible College. The founders were former Allumni from Bible College pastors Deon and Melissa graduated from. What a small world. There were over 90 Thai students who were hungry for the Word of God and wanted to impact thier country for God’s Kingdom.

Cameron, Sarah and Ian headed back to Canada after the jungle mission and Pastor Deon and Donna were reunited with Pastor Melissa and the kids in Bangkok. They then headed to Cambodia to see Pastor Carin and preach at a new Victory Church there. Carin was a part of Center of Hope in Toronto for a short time before feeling the call of God to help in Cambodia. She is doing well and seeing many lives touched and healed with the love and power of Jesus Christ.

At the service many people were touched by the presence of God. The Malloy’s then visited the Not4Sale Project which is almost complete. It is a rescue home for young girls 4-16 who have been freed from the illegal prostitution ring. It was a very impacting time and its wonderful to see how many people are doing something to make a difference in this world. If you feel to financially help with this worth while endevour please follow the link above and click on “Join the Fight” and follow the instructions.

It’s marvelous seeing the Gospel of Jesus change lives no matter the language, the colour, the culture or the age.

Easter’s Real Gift

Apr 2, 2012   //   by TheGuy   //   News and Views  //  Comments Off on Easter’s Real Gift
A wise person once said that our attitude determines out altitude.  This Easter it is good to focus on the pain and suffering our Lord endured for us as he hung on the Cross, but to stop there is to miss the total victory he accomplished.  Upon His resurrection He led captivity captive and gave gifts to men (Eph 4:7) and gave us the right to become children of God (John 1:12), with all the privileges and rights that come with that title.  This Easter think about what he paid the price for and ensure you are walking in the fullness of what He provided for you (Rom 6:4, Eph 2:10, 1 Thes 2:12).  Let’s set our sights high.  Let’s be people that strive to guard our hearts and have an attitude that is pleasing to our Lord. This is God’s formula for success.

-Deon Malloy

Bible Verse of the Day

In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.”
